Answer :- John Philip Sousa was very talented. He wanted to become a musician. At the age of seven, he joined a school of music. He learned to play violin. He had keen interest in playing Baseball once he was chosen to play a violin solo. But he could not perform well due to his mismanagement of time. He joined a bakery. Their he did not like this work. Then again he joined his music teacher now he had become a perfect violin player. He wanted to join circus and to become a ground Band Master.

 

Ultimately, under his father’s advice he joined marine Band. He served as a band master for five different presidents. Finally he become a famous composer and was called the March King.

Answer :- On the day of the concert Philip went to play a game of baseball. He come home in the evening. when he returned home his clothes were dirty. He could not fined a clean shirt ready at home. His mother was not at home to help him. He ran over to school and told his music teacher. His teacher’s wife provided him a shirt. But it was too big for him. The Teacher’s wife used a number of pins and made the shirt fit for him. when he started to play violin the pins come off. Due to this reason he could not play violin on the stage his whole programmer was spoiled.

Answer :- The music teacher told Philip to go to his wife Mrs. Esputa and get a shirt. Philip went to his music teacher’s wife about his story. Mrs. Esputa managed a shirt but it was too big for him. She used a number of pins and made the shirt fit for Philip. Both of them felt relieved when the job was finished. The he ran back to school.

Answer :- The Theme of the chapter is that we should be single minded in our purpose. we should put our heart and soul to achieve our aim. Philip was not serious in the beginning as he had a live his music class. we wanted to become a baker. But left the job after three days. Then he thought of joining a circus. Finally his father got him enlishted in the US marine band. In the end, he come to know as ‘ the march king’.

Answer :- Philip’s apprenticeship was exhausting and brief. Rising at 2:00 AM for heavy labour like kneading dough left him physically drained. The hardship convinced him that he was meant for music, not manual labour,  leading him back to his studies.
