123, Green Avenue
Ludhiana
15th February 2026
My dear Arjun,
I hope you are fine. I am writing to tell you why we must stop using single-use plastic.
Single-use plastic items like bags, bottles, and straws are very harmful to our environment. They take hundreds of years to decompose. They block drains, pollute rivers, and harm animals who eat them by mistake. Our earth is in danger because of plastic waste.
I have decided to carry a cloth bag and use a steel bottle from now on. I request you to do the same. If we both take small steps, we can inspire others too. Please say no to plastic and help save our planet.
Write back soon.
Your friend,
Gurpreet

The Thirsty Crow
It was a hot summer day. The sun was shining brightly in the sky. A crow felt very thirsty. He flew here and there in search of water but could not find any. His throat was dry, and he was feeling weak.
After flying for a long time, he finally saw a pot under a tree. He quickly flew down to it. When he looked inside, he saw a little water at the bottom of the pot. But the pot had a narrow neck, and the water was too low for his beak to reach.
The crow tried to push his head inside, but it did not work. He tried to tilt the pot, but it was too heavy. He felt sad and thought he would die of thirst.
But the crow was clever. He did not give up. He sat quietly for a while and thought hard. Then an idea came to his mind.
He looked around and saw small pebbles lying on the ground. He picked up one pebble in his beak and dropped it into the pot. Then he picked another and dropped it in. One by one, he kept dropping pebbles into the pot.
As more and more pebbles went in, the water level began to rise slowly. The crow continued his hard work. Soon the water came up to the brim of the pot.
The happy crow put his beak inside and drank the cool water. His thirst was quenched. He felt fresh and strong again. He flew away happily, cawing with joy.
